Weekend Reading 9/4/09

The summer is winding down here as Labor Day approaches and everyone gets ready for a Friday night of traffic on the L.I.E.  The news cycle has slowed down, along with the market, giving us a bit of time to pause and assess the situation.  Whether in politics, the market, or your own life, taking time to remove yourself from the situation can give you better perspective on where you are and what direction you’re pointed in.  Have a few beers this weekend, get sun burned, do something you aren’t proud of, and come back on Tuesday with a clear head and a good story to tell.

Enjoy the weekend and stay safe, here is your weekend reading:

At least someone has a conscience.

My iPhone got better service in the norther Vietnamese mountains next to China than it does in NYC.

More on the Chinese bullet trains.

Does your genetic make up predict your performance in the market?

Venezuela is kicking our ass since the Lehman crash.

$BP didn’t find this oil yesterday people, it’s called a hard cap, you just know about it because someone leaked it.

Are insiders feeding out stock to the market and saying thank you to the fed for reflating their shitty company’s stock price, what do you think?

Is this dude mentally challenged or French? Either way it’s hilarious.

Lloyd Blankfein is too Jewish and well mannered to rule the world.

We need more geeks like this.
